Jeffrey Davis – Poet
3 Lagoons
I have travelled through three lagoons
and circled forty-eight moons
and still have not settled down.
Beneath the autumn light caught
in the pond’s face
a fish fins by and, curious, knocks on
the canoe.
Something is always knocking.
Is this not enough?
If not this, what then?
In the distance a yellow leaf grounds down,
captured in a dusk beam.
Envy of radiant certitude.
